Lego making

It's 7pm. B and I are sitting in our living room, putting together the Lego set he got yesterday - a Christmas gift from Santa. He finds the manual on his iPad and proceeds to assemble everything. I am surprised how he is now able to read the visual instructions correctly, find the right piece of Lego, and combine the pieces. His spatial perception has increased so much, oftentimes reading and manually maneuvering the pieces at the same time at a much faster pace than mine.
Sometimes he makes a mistake. A small piece is put in a wrong direction. He will "read" the visuals again, reassess and correct the problem. I stay quiet and do not intervene. Just give him a little time, allow him to make a mistake, let him soak up the fact that you can always remedy any situation, that you do have the power and intellect to do so, all by yourself.
It's a tranquil evening.
"I am enjoying this so much, mommy."
And I enjoy the moments you get to concentrate. Those little moments when I get to see the serious furrows in your forehead.
You identify the next piece. I clicked the manual to move onto the next page.
